i worked with decker for a long time two years ago. i very badly wanted to like it, because there was so much hypercard in it.
weeks of development trying to make a very simple ebook/zine was an uphill battle every step of the way. so much effort was put into making it hypercard-like by intentionally stripping away features (e.g. global variables, sandboxing it in the OS), that making every card was a little prison escape experience. it wasn't fun to make things, it was miserable.
i can honestly say that exigy wouldn't exist at all if i hadn't pulled my hair out trying to make that zine/ebook with decker. it's the toolkit i admire the most, and actually liked using the least.
