In reality first come the rape and violence.

Then comes the two tired justice. Violence from Muslims is tolerated. Violence from non Muslims (even in self defense) is delt with harshness.

The last phase is economic discrimination. Certain occupations are reserved for Muslims. Non Muslims are barred from more and more if the economic sphere.

At this point the only way to protect ones family from violence and to feed them is to convert to Islam.
