Successive rises in the minimum wage have meant its now near the low end of starting salaries in some financial services firms (i.e. accounting firms).

Rather than increase starting salaries, rather CEOs from the sector are arguing that minimum wages should not rise further, because graduates might be disincentivized from joining financial services firms.

Of course they could raise starting wages & sort out too long hours, but *that* would eat into their profits...
