Inalienable rights have nothing to do with liberalism. They came up much later, as an argument *against* liberal things like slavery and poisoning. One might even argue that their origin is largely from the Native American cultures that the liberals ran facefirst into, but of course attribution of those people was stolen left and right.
Classic liberalism, well at least that asshole Locke, had "natural rights" which generally were like right to get conquered if you're an unwashed savage or whatever. But the notion of rights that you do not have the liberty to voluntarily waive is the opposite of liberalism. Which is why libertarians are so dead set on getting eaten by bears.
