Consider what you mean when you say diversity, vs their meaning which is less white people even if its less variety of skin tones.
Consider what they mean when they say "our democracy", you may hear that and thing democracy, when they mean their political control. IE: their ownership over the democracy.
They often mean priviledge + power when they say racism, not what you mean by racism.
Different meanings for things in insular groups isnt new, and they redefine language as a rule. They take symbols and use them in completely different ways as an extention of that.
