For a UASF like BIP-110 to force miners to capitulate, supporters do not just need a majority of hobbyist nodes; they need the majority of the Bitcoin economy. If the largest cryptocurrency exchanges and economic platforms announced they would only recognize the BIP-110 chain, miners would be forced to switch. Miners must sell their newly minted Bitcoin to pay for electricity. If exchanges refuse to list the standard chain, the miners' coins become worthless, forcing them to signal support for BIP-110. Because zero economic giants support BIP-110, a node majority would simply result in those nodes successfully disconnecting themselves from the real, functioning Bitcoin network
