RedTailHawk on Nostr: The discovery of what appears to be an ancestral relationship between the Kolbrin ...

The discovery of what appears to be an ancestral relationship between the Kolbrin Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls continues to yield fascinating new rabbit holes to explore.

The British Israel hypothesis is proving itself to have some real chops. Two of the Vatican's most well regarded historians using at least one source that is publicly available and at least one source from the Vatican's private library have affirmed the story that Joseph of Arimathea and a bunch of early disciples got Shanghaied on an oarless, sailless boat around 36 AD and wound up landing in Marseilles before distributing throughout Gaul as the first class of missionaries. Joseph of Arimathea continued on with some of the disciples to Britain where he linked up with the Druids who it seems understood the genetic logical fallacy quite well according to the Kailedy Gospel's early pages. I just started reading the Kailedy Gospel yesterday and have already found it to be very interesting. It purports to be one of the earliest Christian Gospels.

Perhaps most interesting is that, in the Kailedy Gospel, John the Baptist talks about how "One comes who will be the promised Instructor of Goodness".

Students of the Dead Sea Scrolls might see "Instructor of Goodness" and think to themselves...huh...that sure resembles the Essene notion of the "Teacher of Righteousness" found in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Students of Dolores Cannon's work "Jesus and the Essenes" would further recognize that John would be speaking Essene concepts because John and Jesus were both educated as children with the Essenes. There's a very reasonable chance that Elizabeth fled to Qumran with John and took shelter there from Herod's search as John learned alongside his cousin.

Scholars, in my opinion, have prematurely dismissed both the Kolbrin Bible and the Kailedy Gospel as 20th century, "new age", fabrications. The provenance for both the Kailedy Gospel and the Kolbrin Bible are spotty records with large gaps or lacunas. Those gaps don't mean they're illegitimate, but they do introduce attack vectors for those who speculate that the Kailedy Gospel is not authentic as a first century gospel record. Note, I only learned about the Kailedy Gospel this summer so this is a new thing for me and I'm not some lifelong Culdian or British Israel hypothesis apologist. Some of the earliest known physical copies of the Kailedy (and Kolbrin) were said to have been handwritten copies circulating in Britain in the 1920s or 1930s. Post WW2 it seems the handwritten copies were transcribed into typewritten copies for preservation.

There is a clear consilience forming here, but the question is why? There are only 3 possibilities as to how the Kailedy Gospel contains such a potentially significant textual overlap with the Dead Sea Scrolls.

1. Dumb luck
2. The Kailedy Gospel is legit
3. The fabricators of the Kailedy Gospel somehow learned about the Essene's "Teacher of Righteousness" prophecy and baked in a synonymous concept into their fabrication. Furthermore, they somehow connected the dots that John was educated as a child with the Essenes.

In order for #3 to be the case, the reports of the Kailedy and Kolbrin hand written copies from the 1920s and 1930s could be difficult to explain, as the Dead Sea Scrolls weren't found util 1947-1956. After the influx of scrolls and fragments found in Cave 4, Father de Vaux implemented a secrecy rule, restricting access to the scrolls to a select group of scholars who would be working on analyzing and editing them.

So, again, if #3 is the real timeline, we have to explain how there are copies of the Kolbrin and Kailedy circulating before the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and how the Kailedy contains the "Teacher of Righteousness/Instructor of Goodness" prophecy.

The only way I can see that this "new age fabrication" hypothesis works is if the fabricators used the Damascus Document, but that doesn't even explain everything. The Damascus Document was found in 1896 and eventually published in 1910. That document explicitly contains the "Teacher of Righteousness" bit. So, there is a brief window from either 1910 to the 1920s, or, a larger window from 1896 to the 1920s but it applies to a much smaller subset of the population, i.e. friends of Solomon Schechter who were aware of, privy to, and involved in his work on the Damascus Document. It should be noted that the Damascus Document was found in Old Cairo which, again, makes sense given the Sons of Fire (Kolbrin) -> Sons of Light(Essenes) connection and the known Egyptian connection with the Hebrew tradition, i.e. Moses and Exodus.

So, I guess the point here is that I've found a textual overlap that identifies the window of time within which the textual overlap could have been dishonestly and inauthentically transplanted from the Damascus document to the proposed fabrication.

According to Josephus, the Essenes had a habit of adopting and raising children from external families. We know that John's father was murdered and Elizabeth was relatively elderly, making raising a child on her own in an adversarial climate difficult without support. Qumran is sufficiently distant from Roman authorities as to remain under Herod's radar. Qumran is the most logical support community she would have found that qualifies as "wilderness". If Elizabeth and Mary were sisters, and Joseph of Arimathea is Mary's uncle (Talmud), then Joseph was also Elizabeth's uncle. If Joseph was an Essene, it makes sense that Elizabeth would have known about Qumran and would have gone there.

The wilderness in the Kailedy is described as "the wilderness of Shaba". I'm hearing Walter from The Big Lebowski saying that he doesn't roll on Shomer Shabbos, related to Shabbat and Sabbath, which, based on the Dead Sea Scrolls Sabbath content, could be the match. I'm kind of thinking that John's father was telling John's mother, Elizabeth, to take John out to the "satellite community" (wilderness) of the guardians of the Sabbath (Shaba), or, in other words, the Essene community at Qumran.

I'm not aware of anyone but Dolores Cannon who suggests that John was educated by the Essenes and her first past life regression hypnosis patient was in 1968. The patient she worked with in order to acquire the content that led to her book "Jesus and the Essenes" wasn't even born until 1960.

So, again, I'm not sure how all these details keep aligning if these stories aren't true.
