No, that was someone else. I met Ted directly once after one of his talks. I got the impression that he was prickly, unfortunately. He's ultra famous and gets lots of historical credit, but he is *really* mad that his vision of hypertext never happened (it is supposed to include having all links being bidirectional, as one small example).
There's a book that gets into all the technical details of how Xanadu hypertext was supposed to work...at the time of publication. It's *always* been a moving target, which is why it was always in progress but never released (I lost track so it's possible they did do some releases, but I'm sure they were all alpha, if so).
