I guess I think so too, depending on the context. When I picture “rich” today, I picture corporations whose valuations exist mainly because they’re subsidized by our taxes. Those subsidies boost their market value, which they then use to lobby the same government, pushing for looser regulations, favorable laws, or even more subsidies. It’s a self reinforcing loop that compounds corporate power over time. (With our money)
Corporations aren’t people, and if “the hood” took anything from them, it’s hard to feel sympathy. “Rich people” is another story altogether. Being wealthy isn’t a crime, but I’ll always oppose exploiting others. The gray area lies in the fact that humans/people own the corporations that engage in those practices.
So, when modern “Robin Hoods” encourage or engages in media piracy by sharing a copyrighted movie who are they stealing value from the corporation itself or the owners behind it? 🤷
