The US closed the straight buddy... they did it with help from insurance companies. The insurance companies received a message that ships could be targeted and they spiked the rates. No shipping company could/wants to pay the insurence fee, so they stopped. Yes Iran is shouting they keep it closed, but that is not the true reason. 2 or 3 boats where struck, of which 2 where Indian (both empty)
