My life has become The Da Vinci Code.
I’m getting quotes from a former Vatican private library Curator who is widely touted as the most outstanding historian of the Roman Catholic Church and the Father of Ecclesiastical History in which he, based on having delved into the Vatican archives, says that in the year 36 A.D. “…the party mentioned was exposed to the sea in a vessel without sails or oars. The vessel drifted to Marseilles and they were saved. From Marseilles Joseph [of Arimathea] and his company passed into Britain and after preaching the Gospel there, died.”
This date coincides with Acts of the Apostles 8:1-4.
There’s a ton more evidence in secular history of this paleoChristian diaspora of missionaries about France and England. JW Taylor found sources going back to 500 AD testifying to this narrative, which doesn’t necessarily make it true, but it’s either true or a phenomenally successful psy-op that ossified into tradition and has been propagated for not quite 2,000 years.
We can’t rule out that the story is false but we can also acknowledge that there is an overwhelming amount of evidence offering corroboration and consilience.
This matters because it is important in tracking scriptural provenance. If the Essenes had Egyptian roots with the Sons of Fire, and Joseph of Arimathea was an ally of both the Essenes and the Druids, the association of the Kolbrin’s Bronzebook of Britain with the Egyptian Book of the Sons of Fire makes sense.
It was geographically distributed as a backup. Vespasian’s soldiers massacred the Essenes in 68 AD. Jerusalem was done by 70 AD. Christians were persecuted hardcore right away after the crucifixion but Rome really ramped it up more and more with time. 64 AD was particularly brutal.
The existence of the Dead Sea Scrolls is a testament to the mindset of the Essenes. They understood the importance of preserving their scrolls. They also understood the value of putting their scrolls where no one would look for them, including a copy (or multiple copies) with the Druids in England. Decentralization for the win.
