Here is 18-crown-6 holding a potassium ion again... but now a more chubby depiction, using balls. This makes it clear how the potassium fits snugly inside the crown.

(I knew an Italian who would always write "snuggily" instead of "snugly". A huge difference. Now I see online that the correct spelling of "snuggily" is "snuggly".)
