Our approach is to selectively allow reseeding of things like ox-eyed daisy, sweet rocket, musk mallow, honesty, garlic mustard, dandelions, nipplewort. But we grow fruit and veg among them and after flowering pull out the excess and plant things like chard. 3, 5, 6 and 7 in that list are edible too.
