Erm, I don't think that's true. Median in Sweden is apparently 34400 SKR/month which is more than the UK (where I am) median of £2,586.

Comparisons between salaries and consultancy fees are highly misleading. For the same income, consultants need to charge a lot more to cover non-chargeable work (eg professional development, admin), down-time, and costs borne by employers (eg equipment, pension contributions, insurance).
