There js a funny dichotomy between brahmic and chinese characters
Brahmic Scripts:-
- Ultra Phonetic and basically an encoding for sanskrit phonetic rules
- Every culture group even minir ones has their own major variant
- All are essentially swappable variants of each other with extensions for the vernacular they are associated with
Chinese Characters:-
- More or less ideograms (though with some phonetic use)
- Some major cultures may have some.variation but not so much (?)
- Pronunciation varies extremely between groups but there is a degree intelligibility between even separate language fammilies
