Unpopular Opinion (on #nostr at least) from an Israeli 🇮🇱
Trump is not an idiot, and he is not being dragged into this war by religiously motivated politicians. He is also not being blackmailed by the Israeli government or by the Epstein files.
This is not like Bush being pulled into a populist revenge war after 9/11, and it is not like Netanyahu being pulled into a populist revenge war in Gaza after October 7.
Nor is it simply Israel extending the war in Gaza into a regional conflict after being attacked by Iran previously.
This is a different kind of war - one that likely would have happened even if Iran had not voluntarily stepped in to support Gaza.
You don't get to kill the enemy's leader on the first day of the war - unless you've prepared years in advance.
Trump knows the war is unpopular. He is allowing his critics to call him a warmonger and oppose the war, because he has a kind of "ace up his sleeve". When the right moment comes, he will reveal it - and everyone who criticized him and questioned the necessity of the war may end up looking foolish.
