that's VERY interesting because I had someone else recommending gopher support recently. it's not a terribly complex protocol either from what I understand.
given that kiki already has menu generation built in, it wouldn't be too difficult to re-imagine the (html) display as a kind of terminal display with extremely low overhead... e.g. the tiniest possible character encoding.
with packet radio - does it make more sense to send big chunky packets instead of small ones? (this is territory I know nothing about) i'm thinking of how satellite comms typically work, trying to minimize retries and dealing with brutal latency
