Mason on Nostr: Pretty sure when I was learning how to use the Sparrow Desktop wallet about a month ...
Pretty sure when I was learning how to use the Sparrow Desktop wallet about a month ago, I accidently sent funds to a test wallet rather than my official wallet. And of course I didn't backup this test wallet because I wasn't going to use it, just wanted to see how I could create a wallet directly via sparrow.
And, I learned that when you reopen sparrow, all the wallets you've imported will remain in seperate tabs on the top of the app.
When I finally went to send funds to my official wallet, I think I must have accidently copied a recieve address from that test wallet, which was also on mainnet.
I since then sold the laptop I was using, so there's no way to just reopen the app to get those funds, lol. And I can't get them now because of course no backup was ever made. Lmao.
Bitcoin is truly unforgiving.
I accept my lesson.
I was eager to start using sparrow and bitcoin and apparently, I was overly eager, lol.
I think it would be very helpful however, to have an option on Sparrow to toggle automatic wallet opening upon app-restart. Because I'm 99.5% sure this is what happened in this situation. Had the app not have saved my loaded wallets, I would have had to manually reload my OFFICIAL WALLET that I KNOW I BACKED UP, and in a sense would have been FORCED to double check the wallet I was selecting to recieve the funds. It would have actually been pretty failproof at that point for me to copy an incorrect address and send the funds somewhere I did not intend to.
Will someone who knows someone working on sparrow relay this message for me? I would LOVE to have a feature for toggling auto wallet loading after app closure to help mitigate potential copying of, in my case, test addresses.
I know this feature may not be used much, but maybe it will?
I think it could have helped prevent me - as an eager beaver ready to stack sats - from copying the wrong address as from the wrong wallet.
Thank you.
I love the bitcoin community
