ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 24.04, I've been having really bad lagging with file picking dialogs in Chrome and Firefox. To where it's unusable. And where I was wondering if I was about to lose an SSD.
Turning off "hardware acceleration" in Chrome seemed to help. Not sure how that would affect Firefox, but there seems to be widespread reports of this issue - or some related ones...
