The very short answer is a theatrical war serving as a controlled demolition of the US presence in the Middle East. Setting the stage for multi-polarity as the region is peacefully and economically integrated into the east going forward. That this would never devolve into WW3 and would be wrapped up as a victory in April.
I try to block most of this out since I have no control but his thesis has made things make much more sense to me.
