Does it connect to a network successfully?
Maybe logging in over SSH when the local keyboard/mouse latch up, you can grab some debug info from `dmesg` and `/var/log/Xorg.0.log` (I think that's where it gets put…) that you might be able to post somewhere to figure out what might be going on.
