TIL I learned that a rather fully functional API for controlling some of the most popular automatic cat litter units not only exists in python but was created via reverse engineering and data sniffing. Excellent work. And yeah, there are very serious and important reasons for wanting that kind of data and control over such devices, and those devices can be very important for some cats' health.
