Toothless regulators seems to be a recurring pattern across multiple industries; it seems like just another backwash effect of the original Tory privatisations.
I find it difficult to understand why Labour didn't just appoint more aggressive state regulators across the board. I wonder is that mainly for fiscal reasons or is it because it would hinder their attempts to court the right?
