Yes I know. When I was in the Netherlands during a volunteer year in the 90s they had a progressive way of sharing societal responsibility. The ones who wanted were allowed to take a year off, payed by everybody else. Not everyone wanted, many people just liked their job and didn't feel the need to do it, but everyone accepted the possibility. Noone said that the other one doesn't "deserve" it or so.
