But I also wonder how closely those things are even watched. And what's in a natural flavor? Was the olive oil cut with something else? I'm pretty bearish on American food companies. Maybe it's better elsewhere. Even when I do buy something with multiple ingredients, I have to check the label every time I go. I had a spaghetti sauce I liked that quietly stopped using extra virgin olive oil in some of their flavors. Caught one with canola (that used to not have it) and just stopped buying the brand at all. Now I just make my own and it tastes better anyway. Sad really. I think Ghee's point about brand trust and testing are spot on. Traceability is an idea I first encountered on a bottle of expensive (or so I thought at the time) olive oil.
