I'm tired of paying for a smart TV and then being subjected to monitoring and content advertising. I want a TV for me, not a data source for some giant corporation. I guess just connecting a large monitor with a HDMI cable to a lap top is all you need given that many TV channels now live stream and you can access masses of free programmes on various mediatheks.
