That tactic actually works, but they'll call the pit boss over and cheat. They have some button that magnetizes the wheel in a way that it won't come up on your color.
I know, they did it to me at Foxwoods casino in CT. The funny thing is, as soon as the pit boss came over, everybody else took their money off the table. So they all knew it what was up.
