I know of at least one large project in a downtown area where the city council told local activists the residents who lived in a proposed building wouldn't drive cars so they did not need parking spaces allotted. High rent, small space apartments with 10% of the apartments set aside for low income rental assistance tenants.
YIMBY has some weird ideas.
