Microsoft sucks.
When I got my new work computer set up, I spent about two days hunting down software that would make it tolerable, because the UI decisions they made are insane.
Luckily it's well known that Microsoft sucks, so there are a lot of people out there creating additional software that forces it to suck a little bit less.
