The only thing that will force global AI companies to agree on any real, uniform rules is a total fkn catastrophe… one frontier model blowing through its guardrails and creating global scale chaos.
Until then, every frontier AI lab will keep racing to win, whatever the cost or risk. ⚠️ And we’ll let them. Because we’re optimistically curious creatures, even when that curiosity may lead to our own demise.
Any governments tasked with regulating AI will be too bureaucratic, inept & geriatric to understand what the fk is actually happening. This ends badly as we race toward a mirage, not a panacea.
We won’t get serious AI discipline before the disaster.
But we’ll get it heavy handed because of the disaster.
