My wife is Chinese and refuses to eat boring bread. She views it like this treat that should be spectacular and sampled fresh.
My attitude is that my bread just has to be better than store-bought, it should not take too long to bake, and it needs to keep well since I eat it every day.
I'm not a baking hobbyist any more than I'm a laundry aficionado. (-;
