In a sense, I feel I am almost being "unfair" to Nolan, because I am literally saying that The Odyssey is a perfectly normal Hollywood film. It's so Hollywood.
I don't think Nolan has ever given any indication that he wants to attempt to rise above that. Arguably, his desire is to make the MOST Hollywood films that ever existed.
