So. If you are looking for something that looks and works just like Windows then you will not find it. Think about it: why would people spend years of personal time copying a system when the real thing is right there?
People make desktops because their ideas of what is a good desktop are *different* from the existing ones.
I like Gnome. Sensible defaults, gets out of my way. Many people like KDE. Have you tried them? On their terms - not just trying to copy your Windows workflows?
