The idea being, if we have ID that we own and control, we have something to push back with. It's a monumental adoption curve to solve that use case, and everything we build along the way is worthwhile on its own, but that would be the top of the mountain: to say, "no, this is how we do identity. You can sign a key for me if you want. I can prove I have that kind of key if I want. But there's no reason for you to put me in a database or track me or scan my face"
