So I have been and will remain a proponent of small scale nuclear power.
In light of all the new developments it seems like a legit solution for existing problems like this.
Nuclear power excels at providing base load electricity. It is not "dispatchable" that is can ramp up and down fast with demand. Hence even in places with high renewables like solar and wind you still see fossil fuel based peaker plants. (Aee duck based curve) Hydro electric and pumped storage is dispatchable but droughts can wreak havoc
Small scale nuclear power could be tailored for data centers etc and instead of a centralized massive plants you could have more mobile with just enough power locally. It also saves on infrastructure as you don't need a more powerlines
Put the USN in charge as the legacy of Admiral Rickover is still strong there and they have a good record with nukes
