reminds me of how, in a few countries, escaping from prison is not illegal. because they acknowledge it is human nature to seek freedom from confinement. if you don’t commit any other crimes during the course of your escape, no time will be added to your sentence if you’re eventually caught.
OF COURSE that doesn’t stop those countries from continuing to lock people up but interesting nonetheless that they acknowledge the reality of it in some way.
