I had one cross in front of me while driving. It was running down a slope at dusk, maybe to grab a deer at the creek below. It flew out of the trees from my left, landed on the yellow stripes, and launched off. While stretched out, and if I include the tail, it's length was almost the width of the highway. I was close enough to see the hairs rippling over the massive muscles.
