I thought Bitcoin would help me escape from the kind of tribal thinking that forces people to choose from the lesser of two evils.

Unfortunately that's not what I have been seeing lately. When I see a conflict like this one between core and knots I try to zoom out and look at the broader context. So far this is the most interesting proposal I've seen for a sustainable solution. It doesn't seem to be getting much attention yet.
