I'm using GOS on a refurbished pixel 3a... purchased for $250 in 2019 as a second phone to play around with....end of life was July 2023....at this point, it's an alarm clock, Internet search tool and a spam phone number.
im not a big consumer. i want my phone to work for at least 10 years.
so to accomplish that with GOS, i would need to buy a newer Pixel phone (~cost $800).
For me, since I don't need a lot of features except a decent keyboard, it makes more sense to get a new dumb phone for $800, and not deal with side loading GOS and mandatory new phones at end of life.
