Normative authority-approved lifeplans only involves a number of assumptions indeed.
That being said regarding appearance and attraction, some have fairly limited attraction ranges for various traits and a carnal intimate relationship without attraction might be quite uncomfortable a prospect.
Of course since I don't meet my /own/ standards (I quite despise this meatpuppet) the entire notion is out. (And no amount of money & surgery will fix what displeases me so that's that.)
