I've never understood the fascination that so many Americans seem to have with "spicy" food, especially these so-called hot sauces from Mexico. I've always viewed it as shitty and unhealthy third-world stuff. I mean, it does exist here in Europe too since you can find it in stores, but it's still pretty unusual and has never been part of our traditional European cuisine.
