I don’t want the thief to get away with it. I want a network where no one can mark those coins and keep the thief from making a transaction. When billions of people have that option, then we don’t have single authoritarians just turning off an individual’s money. Uncensorable money is different than private. I want uncensorable on the base layer. If 99.9% of people around you think what you did was wrong, well then figuring out how to spend those coins anonymously is a separate problem we don’t need the base layer to solve.
