What I do in problem troubleshooting is often not terribly advanced. But what I WAS able to do was _pick_ one of multiple pathways, walk through a story about how *we* are figuring out the problem in detail, then putting it all together why *our* conclusion is most likely correct.

I already "knew" what the issue was after only a bit of poking. This is not how network connections or applications behave under normal circumstances. This is repeatably arbitrarily conditional, some security engine shit is going on. Esp TCP retransmits. But "knowing" often isn't enough.
