Adherents to classic liberalism will respect the police and military as legitimate, necessary, and beneficial institutions. They treat violation of private property as a crime, and agree that criminals do not get to have liberty. Slaves count as private property, because they or their parents or their nature as chattel livestock agreed to it at some point maybe, or they lost the war and so deserve it. Liberals are fierce defenders of colonialism, measuring the success of their people by how much and how quickly they can extract from the rest of the world, because their liberal culture is better than any of that unwashed savagery that they've never seen before.
So I'm not a big fan of liberalism.
