My Mum used to work in the typing pool at an unnamed Police service. I used to get given cassette tapes from interviews after they'd been typed up - to reuse for music or whatever. They hadn't been wiped.
Some of that stuff was harrowing. This was around the time the authorities started taking child abuse, both current and historical, quite seriously.
I knew a few people in some of the interviews I listened to.
