Except of course WRT to Jimmy Kimmel, the FCC claims are mostly a politician weapon, not only was his show losing a lot of money and he's reported to have demanded to double down on Kick instead of apologize, there was a syndicators' boycott.
That is, the companies and people closest to the ~~customers~~ product for advertising, the ones who run local TV stations like Nexstar were removing his program from their stations. And in at least one case running counter programming about Kirk for at least a while.
