It’s “all or nothing” thinking like this which hurts causes and movements.
As leaders we have to do better to meet people where they are at!
Imagine going to your mom and be like “yo…so I’m on this amazing free speech platform, a protocol really…the people are amazing and love and support one another because we are all building something together, in our own ways.
Mom…do you want to be a part of it?”
She says, “of course hun.”
“Cool,” you pause, “ all you have to do is run a relay! I’ll hop on Amazon, err I mean the Bitcoin version (I forget it’s name mom so forgive me)…but yea I’ll order you all the stuff and help you learn to code and route stuff and interact with Terminal…but hey if you don’t want the equipment in your home we could do it all via VPS…but I really don’t want you doing that as it less decentralized…”

The idea that if you have to run a node to be a useful part of anything ignores the different roles platforms require in order to achieve Network Affect…
We have to do better than espouse beliefs that contradict the very mechanics of growth and relationships!
