In hospital, I mentioned to a nurse that I’m a bit deaf. I said I’d like her to face me, speak clearly. Then announced I was off to the bathroom. Nurse turned to my daughter, asked, “Can she walk?”
Daughter and I still giggling about it. I suspect “Can she walk?” will be part of our family lore.
