MicroG provides you a layer of privacy because you don't need to log into a Google account to use some of the Play Services API and you can control what is used. I understand Google might still build profiles for fingerprinted devices even if you turn in MicroG features that call it, but is it more private than Graphene's supported method of just using a sandboxes GPS which requires a Google account?
