Tesla TummyEveryone knows about Nikola Tesla. He was a great inventor, lover of Alternating Current and rival to that hack and thief Edison.
He slept little, wrote constantly, and produced some really cool stuff. Wireless lighting, The Tesla coil, and there is a rumor that he may have accidentally discovered X-Ray a few weeks prior to the Wilhelm Rontgen, the man credited with the discovery.
He never married and mentioned that he felt women would eventually control the species, referring to them as "Queen Bees" and had told reporters that not marrying had been too great a sacrifice to his work.
But he was also quoted as saying -
> Now the soft-voiced gentlewoman of my reverent worship has all but vanished. In her place has come the woman who thinks that her chief success in life lies in making herself as much as possible like man—in dress, voice and actions...
So... perhaps he just never found the right person.
But did you know about his relationships with food?
He saw the body as an engine. An engine that must be fed with clean inputs. Breakfast was egg whites, boiled and served with a giant glass of cold white milk.
Because of this he sort of practiced intermittent fasting which wasn't even really a thing at the time. The guy was obsessed with celery. OBSESSED.
He ate celery in virtually everything and when he hosted dinners he would feed them duck smothered in celery. Literally a duck roasted and covered in celery. Though the recipe is lost to time, it involves a side of essentially celery soup. There's a YouTuber who has recreated the duck meal... it is tragic.
